Does the 4-month sleep regression ever actually end or am I just sleep deprived?
I feel like I have been living in a foggy, caffeine-fueled time loop for the last six weeks. My daughter was sleeping in four-hour stretches until suddenly, overnight, it turned into an hourly wake-up call that feels more like a prison sentence than parenting. Everyone keeps telling me this is just a developmental milestone—a 'sleep regression'—but I am honestly starting to wonder if my internal clock is permanently broken. I have tried the swaddle transitions, the white noise machines set to hurricane-level volume, and even some questionable rocking techniques I read about on a late-night frantic Google search. Are we just waiting for her brain to reorganize, or am I missing some secret trick that keeps a baby asleep past midnight? Does anyone have an 'after' story, or am I destined to live on cold coffee and dry shampoo until she leaves for college? I’m genuinely curious if the 'regression' is truly temporary or if this is the new baseline reality for my household.
