Does Anyone Actually Feel Refreshed After Trusting Their Sleep Tracker's Bizarre Daily Readiness Score?
I have been wearing this high-end ring tracker for three months now, and I am starting to think it is just a sophisticated random number generator designed to mess with my head. Yesterday, I felt absolutely sluggish and my brain was basically fog, but my app told me I had a perfect sleep score and was ready for peak performance. Conversely, on days where I wake up feeling like a human being, it tells me my recovery is poor and I should take a rest day. Is it just me, or are we letting these algorithms dictate our physical reality? I catch myself getting annoyed when my 'readiness' isn't high enough, even if I physically feel fine. It is turning my morning routine into a weird game of data validation instead of just listening to my own body. Are you guys actually finding these metrics useful, or are we all just becoming slaves to the vibrating blue light on our wrists?

Oh, the classic 'Readiness Score' trap! I completely understand where you are coming from. I spent a whole summer obsessing over the metrics on my wrist. I’d wake up feeling fantastic, only to check my app and see a score of 62, which would instantly make me feel sluggish and discouraged for the rest of the day. It is completely backwards. As a long-distance runner, I had to learn the hard way that these devices are measuring heart rate variability and temperature, which are just proxies for health—not your actual lived experience. I finally stopped wearing the ring for a month, and ironically, my sleep improved because I wasn't stressed about the numbers anymore. Do you think the device is actually helping your sleep, or just providing a new metric for you to worry about?
